Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that thousands of crores of rupees are being spent on connectivity and infrastructure projects in Tripura. He said that Tripura is emerging as a new gateway of trade in the Northeast, which will be connected to Thailand, Myanmar and other countries. He inaugurated several development projects. During this, launched the ‘Griha Pravesh’ program for more than two lakh beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban and Rural) and said that the “double engine government” is working hard so that the people of the state are benefited, addressing a public meeting at Vivekananda Maidan here he said the government’s focus was on all-round development of Tripura and the projects undertaken would give impetus to the development of the state.

Cleanest among small states

Modi said that in the last five years the cleanliness drive has become a mass movement and as a result Tripura has emerged as the cleanest among the small states of the country. Tripura secured the top rank among states with less than 100 local bodies in a survey conducted by the central government.

Women of Tripura are getting benefited

The Prime Minister said that the women of Tripura are getting maximum benefits of the welfare schemes. He said that money is coming into the bank accounts of the mothers of the children through the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. He said that there is a system of institutional delivery, so that along with the mother, the child also remains healthy.
