Abhishek Banerjee is the nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and a Member of the Parliament representing the Diamond Harbour constituency in the Lok Sabha. A member of the All India Trinamool Congress, he has been the president of the party’s youth wing, the All India Trinamool Yuva, since 2011. He has also been a member of Railway Convention Committee since 2015.
Trinamool Congress sources said party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accompanied by party’s All India national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee is set to visit the poll bound state on February 6.
Banerjee will lead a road show on February 7 seeking votes for the TMC nominees. Apart from the duo, as many as 37 star campaigners including MP Mahua Moitra, West Bengal Minister Firhad Hakim are coming to the northeastern state to campaign for TMC candidates, said party’s state in-charge Rajib Banerjee.
Firhad Hakim is an Indian politician serving as the current and 38th Mayor of Kolkata. He is also serving as Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and Housing, Government of West Bengal. He is a MLA of the All India Trinamool Congress party from Kolkata Port.
