Arunachal Pradesh: Historic Milestone for Namsai ; Town Granted Nagar Panchayat Status Under Municipal Act

Guwahati: In a landmark development, Namsai has officially been granted the status of Nagar Panchayat under the Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 2007, marking a new chapter in the region’s journey towards planned urban growth and modern governance.

The decision, approved by  Chief Minister  Pema Khandu and  Minister for Urban Development Shri Balo Raja, has been widely hailed as a visionary step that will ensure balanced urbanization, better civic administration, and improved public amenities for the people of Namsai.

Welcoming the announcement, Chau Zingnu Namchom, MLA of 47-Namsai, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the state leadership, stating that the recognition will accelerate infrastructural development, strengthen civic facilities, and open up new avenues of opportunity for residents.

“This is a significant milestone that reflects the government’s commitment to shaping a progressive and prosperous future for Namsai,” he said in his message on Friday.

With the new status, Namsai town is set to benefit from enhanced civic governance mechanisms, paving the way for modern infrastructure, sustainable growth, and inclusive development for every citizen.
