Assam CM Distributes Over 6,300 Appointment Letters for Grade-III Posts Under ADRE

6,347 Candidates Receive Appointment Letters at Sarusajai

Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 6,347 candidates selected for Grade-III posts through the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE). The event took place at Sarusajai in Guwahati, marking another major step in the state government’s recruitment drive.

Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister said the recruitment process reflected the government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and merit-based selection.

Transparent Recruitment Process Highlighted

Sarma highlighted that the ADRE examinations were conducted on a single day across 28 districts in Assam. More than 9.12 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. To ensure fairness and prevent malpractices, authorities suspended internet services during the exams.

He said the government adopted a unified recruitment system supported by dedicated commissions, which helped maintain credibility. “The process was completely transparent, and not a single case reached the courts,” Sarma noted, underlining public trust in the system.

Over 1.5 Lakh Government Jobs Delivered

The distribution of Grade-III appointment letters came just a day after 4,369 candidates selected for Grade-IV posts received their joining letters. With this, the total number of government jobs provided under the current Assam government has reached 1,50,033.

The figure surpasses the government’s 2021 Assembly election promise of providing one lakh jobs, Sarma said. He described the achievement as a milestone in the state’s employment policy.

CM Calls for Dedicated Public Service

Congratulating the new recruits, the Chief Minister urged them to serve the people of Assam with honesty and dedication. He reminded them that government service carries responsibility and public trust.

“You are entering public service at a time when transparency and accountability matter the most. Uphold these values in your work,” he told the appointees.

‘Swagata Satirtha’ Portal to Reopen on February 1

During the event, Sarma also announced that the ‘Swagata Satirtha’ portal, which allows government employees to apply for mutual transfers, will reopen on February 1. He said the portal aims to address personal and family-related concerns of employees while maintaining administrative efficiency.

Youth Trust and Job Creation Emphasised

The Chief Minister said transparent recruitment has restored confidence among the youth of Assam. He added that fair job opportunities discourage corruption and nepotism.

Sarma also encouraged young people to explore entrepreneurship, stating that government jobs alone cannot absorb the entire workforce. He stressed the need for private-sector growth and innovation to create additional employment opportunities.

The Assam government, he said, will continue to focus on skill development, industrial growth, and transparent governance to strengthen the state’s economy.
