Assam Deputy Speaker Alleges Corruption Within INDIA Bloc

In a scathing verbal attack, Assam Deputy Speaker Numal Momin accused the INDIA bloc, an opposition alliance, of pursuing power for personal gain through corrupt practices. This stark accusation comes amidst the political landscape gearing up for upcoming elections, with Momin highlighting alleged corruption and a lack of cohesive vision within the opposition alliance.

INDIA Bloc: Allegations of Corruption

Deputy Speaker Momin pointed to a recent incident involving the Enforcement Directorate seizing crores of rupees from Congress MP Dhiraj Prasad Sahu as a glaring example of corruption within the INDIA bloc. He suggested that such instances undermine the credibility of the opposition and question their commitment to ethical governance.

BJP’s Commitment to Development

In contrast, Momin emphasized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to development under the banner of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.” This assertion positions the BJP as a party dedicated to inclusive growth and stands in opposition to the perceived self-serving motives of the INDIA bloc.

INDIA Bloc’s Lack of Unity

Momin characterized the INDIA bloc as a loosely knit coalition of disparate ideologies, bound together only by a shared ambition to unseat Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He contended that the alliance lacks a unifying vision and concrete goals, making it susceptible to internal divisions during seat-sharing negotiations.

Expressing confidence in the BJP’s strength, Momin predicted the impending collapse of the INDIA bloc during seat-sharing discussions. He anticipated larger parties rejecting the demands of smaller ones within the alliance, leading to its fragmentation and weakening its electoral impact.

Praise for Modi’s Leadership

While criticizing the opposition, Momin lauded Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He credited Modi with elevating India’s economy to the 5th position globally and highlighted the success of direct benefit transfer schemes and welfare initiatives for the underprivileged as factors contributing to Modi’s popularity among the masses.

Condemnation of Congress Tactics

Deputy Speaker Momin condemned the Congress party for allegedly resorting to fear-driven negative campaigning and tactics that undermine democratic principles. He specifically criticized Rahul Gandhi’s recording of Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee mimicking Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, deeming it shameful and unbecoming of a parliamentarian.

Momin’s accusations shed light on the intense political rivalry and allegations of corruption that are likely to shape the narrative in the lead-up to the elections.
