Guwahhati: Golaghat district continues to grapple with the impact of recent floods, which claimed the life of Kulamani Turi, a resident of the region.
Assam Cabinet Minister and Bokakhat MLA Atul Bora on Wednesday visited the late Kulamani Turi’s residence to express condolences and extend government support. On behalf of the Government of Assam, Bora handed over a cheque of Rs 4 lakh as ex-gratia assistance prepared by the Golaghat district administration.
The cheque was formally presented in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Bokakhat, representing the district administration. Minister Bora assured the bereaved family of continued support and highlighted the government’s commitment to standing by people affected by natural calamities.
Officials including Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Ajanta Neog, Biswajit Phukan, Bhabendra Nath Bharali, Mrinal Saikia, and representatives of DIPRO Golaghat and the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Assam extended solidarity.
