BSF Jawan Martyred in Militant Attack Near Bangladesh Border in Tripura

A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed in an attack by a militant group on the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura. Giving this information, BSF sources said that a suspected militant is behind this attack. The attack took place near the remote Khanglang border post in North Tripura. This area is a trijunction between Tripura, Mizoram and BSF. Officials said that a BSF team was on an operation in Seema-II outpost area of ​​Kanchanpur subdivision, when firing started from Bangladesh side. Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar said, “A group of heavily armed militants opened fire on BSF jawans from Jupui area of ​​Rangamati Hills district of Bangladesh. The jawans retaliated, triggering an encounter between the two sides.

“During the encounter, a BSF jawan was hit by four bullets,” he said. Kumar, who reached the spot, said that due to coordinated retaliation by the BSF, the militants could not do much damage. He said, “After the incident, security has been increased along the India-Bangladesh border. The campaign in the area has also been intensified. We will talk to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on this issue for necessary action. ,
