Centre Upgraded Security of Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma Got Z+ Security

The security of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been beefed up. The central government has now provided them the security of the Z + category of CRPF. Sources said the Center has increased the security of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from ‘Z’ category to ‘Z+’ category in the Northeast region on country basis.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which is currently providing ‘Z’ category security to Sarma, will now provide ‘Z plus’ category security to him.

Sources said the move has been taken after reviewing the security arrangements for Sarma in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in consultation with the central security agency and decided to upgrade his existing ‘Z’ category CRPF security cover in the North-East. has gone. According to the ministry, “It has been decided that their existing Z category CRPF security in the Northeast will be enhanced to Z plus category across India.”

Sources said the Home Ministry has requested the CRPF to provide ‘Z+’ category security to Sarma on an all India basis.

As per the ‘Z+’ category security protocol, more than 50 commandos will accompany the Assam Chief Minister whenever he travels anywhere within the country.

Sarma was provided ‘Z’ category security of CRPF in 2017. Earlier, as part of the security arrangements, Sarma was being provided ‘Z’ category security within the state.

Significantly, only last month, a major security lapse was noticed at a rally of Hemant Biswa Sarma in Hyderabad, when a worker reached near him on the stage. At the same time, even after the recent action taken by the Chief Minister for madrassas in Assam, the Home Ministry has reviewed their security. In view of all these reasons, now they will be provided Z+ category CRPF cover.
