Chittaranjan Debbarma Receives Padma Shri for Spiritual Achievements

At the Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu awarded Padma Shri to Chittaranjan Debbarma for his achievements in spiritualism.

Early Life and Spiritual Awakening

Born on January 22, 1962, in Barakathal, Sidhai Mohanpur, Tripura, Debbarma developed a strong devotion to Shiv Parvati and Radha Krishna. His spiritual journey deepened after encountering the teachings of Sri Sri Santikali Maharaj during his travels.

Inspired by his Guru, Debbarma embraced sanyas and dedicated himself to Maa Tripurasundari. The tragic passing of his Guru at the hands of the NLFT terrorist organization became a pivotal moment in his life. Entrusted to lead Sri Sri Santikali Ashram, he expanded its mission to serve the indigenous poor population.

Despite facing threats, Debbarma opened hostels in multiple locations, providing shelter and education to over 700 children from economically disadvantaged families. He currently serves as the Peethadhish of Shantikali Peeth and Ashram in Gomati district.

His contributions have earned him several awards, including the Sant Eshwar Award, Krishna Chandra Gandhi Award, Karmayogi Award, and Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Smriti Award.

Debbarma founded Sri Sri Santikali English Medium School in 2019, focusing on holistic and value-based education. With 24 ashrams, an old-age home, and mentorship programs across Tripura, his social impact has grown significantly.

The ashram ventured into healthcare, offering traditional treatments with herbs. Many individuals, previously deemed incurable, found healing through these holistic practices.

Debbarma emphasizes the importance of showcasing cultural heritage and Sanatan Dharma principles. His influence has attracted followers from both indigenous and non-indigenous communities, fostering a resurgence in spiritual and moral well-being.
