In a mysterious incident, Sajal Karmakar (38), a junior officer of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Tripura Police, was found critically injured beside a road in Bishalgarh late on Wednesday night. He later succumbed to his injuries at Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital in Agartala.
The incident has raised serious questions, as the circumstances leading to his injuries remain unclear.

Body Found Near Laxmibil Area
According to local sources, Sajal Karmakar was a resident of the Laxmibil area under Bishalgarh subdivision. Around 11 pm, some residents noticed him lying injured beside a road at Karmakar Tilla near Laxmibil.
Concerned by his condition, locals immediately alerted the Fire Service authorities for assistance.
Shifted Between Hospitals
Rescue personnel rushed Karmakar to Bishalgarh Hospital for initial treatment. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, doctors referred him to Tripura Medical College (TMC) Hospital in Agartala.
As his condition continued to deteriorate, TMC doctors further referred him to GBP Hospital for advanced medical care.
Dies During Treatment at GBP Hospital
Despite sustained medical efforts, Sajal Karmakar could not survive his injuries. Sources confirmed that he breathed his last while undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital late at night.
The news of his death sent shockwaves through the local community and police circles.
Cause of Injuries Still Unclear
Police officials from Bishalgarh stated that the exact reason behind Karmakar being found injured remains unknown. Investigators are yet to determine whether the incident was accidental or involved foul play.
Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities at this stage.
