Tripura has been hit by a cyclonic storm, leaving a trail of destruction across seven districts. Over 800 houses have been reported damaged, plunging numerous families into distress. In response, the state government has swiftly mobilized resources, allocating a State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) amounting to Rs 55.38 crores to facilitate immediate relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The cyclonic storm, characterized by strong winds and heavy rainfall, struck several districts of Tripura, causing widespread damage to residential structures and infrastructure. Reports indicate that the affected districts include West Tripura, Sepahijala, Gomati, South Tripura, Dhalai, Khowai, and North Tripura.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Chief Minister of Tripura, expressed deep concern over the situation and affirmed the government’s commitment to providing timely assistance to those in need. “Our foremost priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens affected by the cyclonic storm. The allocation of the State Disaster Relief Fund underscores our determination to swiftly address the challenges posed by this natural calamity,” stated Mr. Kumar.
