The victims, Aribam Sarikhan and Phundreimayum Akram, both residents of Sangaiyumpham village in Thoubal district, were reportedly involved in making monetary demands from Brilliant Public School, Samurou bazaar, located nearly 14 kilometers away from Imphal. The assailants, as yet unidentified, abducted the duo from Naril Konjil village around 7 am, subsequently abandoning them after inflicting gunshot wounds to their legs.
