Khatkhati Police in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district have achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking.
During a routine naka checking operation near the Assam-Nagaland border, police intercepted a white Toyota Fortuner bearing registration number CH 04 L 0888.
The search revealed 10.937 kilograms of opium concealed inside the vehicle, along with ₹1.10 lakh in cash.

The cash found alongside the contraband is suspected to be proceeds from earlier drug transactions.
Two Arrested in Connection with Smuggling
Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the seizure.
Both hail from outside Assam and were allegedly attempting to transport the opium towards destinations further inside the state or possibly beyond.
