Manipur CM Biren Singh on Al-Qaeda Demolished Offices in Assam

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has praised CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for the demolition of three madrasas in Assam. Biren Singh said that BJP is not against legal madrassas, but action will be taken against illegal madrassas. He said that if he too had been the CM of Assam, he would have taken a similar step.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Biren Singh said, “What the Chief Minister is doing in Assam regarding the madrassa is right. Those who have to approach the courts, they can, this is democracy. Had I been the Chief Minister of Assam, I would have taken the same action.

The opposition party Congress is opposing Sarma’s action. To this Biren Singh said that Sarma understands the political demography of the state and is working accordingly. He further said, ‘Sarma is a seasoned politician who is associated with the grassroots. He understands the political demography there. He is working accordingly. We had instructed madrasas in Manipur to provide general education. He said that there is a need to crack down on those involved in unconstitutional activities.

Manipur CM further said, ‘There is a need to identify unrecognized and unauthorized madrasas. India’s democracy was unfairly exploited. The BJP governments are not against legal madrassas, but against illegal madrassas. Action is needed against those who do unconstitutional activities.

‘ Demolished madrassas were Al-Qaeda offices’

Earlier Himanta Biswa Sarma said that all the demolished madrasas were not madrassas but al-Qaeda offices. We demolished 2-3 madrassas and now people are coming to demolish others.
