Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, said that Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan called him and expressed his worry over a demonstration against his new movie “Pathaan” that is taking place in the region.
The Chief Minister of Assam promised the actor that his administration would look into the protest against the film and take steps to guarantee that no such unfortunate situations would happen in the future.
The Bajrang Dal members attacked a theatre in the city of Narengi on Friday, where the Pathaan movie was supposed to be shown. Members from the extreme right-wing organization tore down and burned the movie posters in that particular region.
After this incident, Shahrukh Khan called the chief minister of Assam and they both have a meeting regarding this matter where Himanta Biswa Sarma assured him that no such violent acts will happen again in the region against his movie. The Pathaan Movie is going to be released on 25th January.
