In shocking news, a missing plane in Nepal with 22 people has hit the headlines today, 29 May 2022, Sunday.

There has been a report of a missing plane in Nepal with 22 people of thirteen Nepali civilians, three crew members, four Indians, and two German tourists who went missing while flying from Pokhara to Jomsom 5 minutes before the landing. According to the officials, The Twin Otter 9N-AET of local Nepal’s Tara Air was scheduled to land at Jomsom Airport in the western mountain region at 10:15 am. It lost contact with the tier from the sky above Ghorepani on the Pokhara-Jomsom air route.

Narayan Silwal, the spokesperson of the Nepal Army, said that according to the information shared by the locals to Nepal Army, the missing plane crashed at the mount of the Lamche river under the landslide of Manapathi Himal.

“The Nepal Army is moving towards the site from the ground and air route,” said Silwal.

Officials said that the cloudy weather prevented the search helicopters from inspecting. A search helicopter was bound to return to Jomsom due to the inclement weather, added the officials.

“Helicopters are ready to take off for search from Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Jomsom once weather conditions improve. Army and police search teams have left towards the site already,” said Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority.
