Discussion on the Name of the Chief Minister
Chief Minister Manik Saha himself had accepted this after the election results. In such a situation, discussions are going on that the BJP leadership may even change the face of the Chief Minister in Tripura.
It is believed that BJP may make Pratima Bhowmik the new Chief Minister of Tripura to give a message to the public in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. If this happens, Pratima Bhowmik will be the first woman Chief Minister of the Northeast. Pratima Bhowmik is a Member of Parliament from West Tripura Lok Sabha seat and has been associated with BJP since 1991.
Bhowmik’s image is that of a down to earth leader. If so, Pratima Bhowmik will be the first woman Chief Minister of the Northeast. Pratima Bhowmik, has been associated with the RSS and has also been associated with the BJP’s Mahila Morcha as vice-president and the state’s Yuva Morcha. After being the BJP Vice President for two years, she was made the party’s General Secretary in the 2018 Tripura Assembly elections, in which the BJP won Tripura. After this, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Pratima Bhowmik won by more than three lakh votes.
Dhanpur seat is considered to be a stronghold of the Left party and former Chief Minister of the state Manik Sarkar was also an MLA from this seat for almost 50 years.
According to media reports, 89.17 per cent women exercised their vote in the state assembly elections, while the figure for men was 86.12 per cent. If Pratima Bhowmik is made the new Chief Minister of Tripura, then Manik Saha can be sent to the Centre. In the state assembly elections, 89.17 per cent women exercised their vote, while the figure for men stood at 86.12 per cent.
