North Tripura DM Highlights AI-Driven Governance at NITI Aayog Frontier 50 Workshop

The District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura, Chandni Chandran, participated in the NITI Aayog workshop on Frontier 50 at Vigyan Bhavan on Friday. The Aspirational Block Fellow of Dasda also attended the event.

The workshop, organised by NITI Aayog, brought together district administrators from across the country. The discussions focused on leveraging frontier technologies to improve governance outcomes in aspirational blocks.

Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Education

During a panel discussion of District Collectors, Chandran emphasised the role of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in strengthening public service delivery. She said technology can help bridge learning gaps, expand access, and improve the quality of education at the grassroots level.

Chandran noted that digital tools can assist teachers, track student progress, and identify areas that need targeted intervention. She added that AI-based solutions can support data-driven decision-making in district administration.

Dasda Among Frontier 50 Blocks

Chandran welcomed the selection of Dasda block under the Frontier 50 initiative. The programme has chosen 50 aspirational blocks from across 500 nationwide for piloting advanced technologies.

“It is encouraging that Dasda has been selected among the 50 aspirational blocks for this initiative,” she said. She added that the programme could address gaps in service delivery, especially in sectors like education.

The Frontier 50 initiative aims to test innovative solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric governance. It supports district administrations in implementing advanced tools tailored to local challenges.

Strengthening Local Governance

Chandran said exposure to national-level best practices would help district teams design practical and innovative solutions. She stressed that local administrations must adapt technology to suit community-specific needs.

She added that collaboration between policymakers, technologists, and district officials will ensure effective implementation. According to her, such platforms encourage knowledge-sharing and accelerate reforms at the grassroots level.

Driving District-Led Innovation

The workshop underlined the importance of district-led innovation in achieving inclusive development. By integrating frontier technologies, aspirational blocks can enhance monitoring systems, improve service outreach, and ensure better outcomes for citizens.

Officials believe that initiatives like Frontier 50 can transform governance models in remote and underserved regions. For North Tripura, participation in the programme offers an opportunity to modernise systems and deliver more efficient public services.

With Dasda now part of the Frontier 50 network, the district administration aims to harness technology to strengthen education, transparency, and governance in the coming years.
