President Draupadi Murmu Arrives in Nagaland on a Two-Day Visit

President Draupadi Murmu reached the capital Kohima on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Nagaland.

They were received by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and other senior ministers and bureaucrats when they landed at the Assam Rifles helipad here in the afternoon.

After receiving the President, Rio tweeted: “Honoured to welcome President Draupadi Murmu. We are delighted to welcome you to Nagaland. ,

The state government has organized a public reception at the Capital Cultural Hall here. In this program, the President will launch 60 projects through digital medium, including the inauguration of newly constructed government schools, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) roads, Eklavya Model School and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.

He is also scheduled to meet state ministers at the Raj Bhavan, after which a state banquet will be organized for him at the chief minister’s residence in the evening.

On Thursday, the President will visit the World War II cemetery in Kohima and Kigwema, one of the oldest Angami villages, about 15 km from the capital. After reaching there, she will discuss various issues with the leaders of the village council.

Last month, the President had visited Tripura and Assam.
