The Tipra Engineers’ Society of Tripura (TEST) organized a Felicitation cum Orientation Training Program for newly recruited Junior Engineers of TES Grade-V (A) and Grade-V (B) under the Public Works Department (PWD). The event was held on September 14, 2025, at Dasarath Bhawan in Agartala, coinciding with the celebration of Engineers’ Day to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
The program witnessed the presence of a large number of dignitaries and special guests from various sectors, who gathered to celebrate the contribution of engineers and welcome the new recruits into service.
Pre-Event Sports Activities
As part of the Engineers’ Day celebrations, sports events were conducted on September 13, 2025. These included a friendly football match at Umakanta Football Stadium, along with badminton and table tennis competitions at NRCC Hall, Netaji Sports Complex. The events brought together engineers and participants in a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie.
Program Inauguration
The felicitation and orientation training program was officially inaugurated by Mr. Animesh Debbarma, Hon’ble Minister of Forest, G.A.(P&S), Science, Technology & Environment, Government of Tripura. In his address, he emphasized the importance of engineering in building modern infrastructure and highlighted the role of young engineers in shaping the future of the state.
Educational Sponsorships
On this special occasion, TEST also extended its Educational Sponsorship for the academic year 2025–26. Two students were awarded sponsorships:
- Marshal Debbarma, a first-year student of NIT Agartala in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
- Jamen Babu Tripura, a first-year student of TIT, Narasinghar, in Civil Engineering.
The sponsorships were presented by Minister Animesh Debbarma, reflecting the society’s commitment to supporting young talents in technical education.
Technical Session and Speakers
The orientation program featured a series of speeches and discussions led by prominent engineers. Er. Sukesh Debbarma, General Manager, Electronics & Telecommunication, ONGC, attended as the invited speaker. Panel discussions included contributions from Er. Pijush Debbarma (EE), Er. Jiban Debbarma (SE), Er. Upendra Jamatia (IAS), Er. Jayanta Debbarma (SE), Er. Rajesh Reang (EE-M), and Er. Ritesh Debbarma (EE).
The sessions aimed to motivate and guide the newly recruited engineers while underlining the responsibilities that come with their roles.
Conclusion
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Er. Amulya Jamatia, President of TEST, who expressed gratitude to all participants, dignitaries, and sponsors for making the program a success.
The felicitation program and Engineers’ Day celebration not only welcomed new engineers into the profession but also reinforced the legacy of engineering excellence in Tripura, paying tribute to the vision and contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
