TISF Intervenes to Resolve Durga Puja Chanda Threat in Abhoynagar

The Tipra Indigenous Students Federation (TISF) took swift action to resolve a reported threat during Durga Puja Chanda collection in Abhoynagar under Netaji Club. The incident raised concerns among students and parents, prompting immediate intervention from the organization.

According to reports, the matter was addressed under the leadership of TISF President Shri Sajra Debbarma. Responding quickly, TISF Simna Division Convenor Mr. Rahul Debbarma, along with TISF Town Committee Joint Convenor Mr. Joydeep Sinha and members of the federation, visited the East Police Station to lodge their concerns and seek an amicable resolution.

The TISF delegation engaged in discussions with both police officials and the executive members of Netaji Club. The aim was to ensure that such incidents do not repeat in the future and to guarantee the safety and security of students and their families. The leaders emphasized that no parent or student should be subjected to intimidation or unnecessary pressure during cultural and religious activities such as Durga Puja.

Durga Puja is one of the most celebrated festivals in Tripura, bringing communities together for cultural and spiritual activities. However, incidents related to forced donations or threats during Chanda collection have often caused unrest in certain localities. By stepping in promptly, TISF leaders sought to reinforce community harmony and safeguard the interests of indigenous students and families.

The organization also highlighted its ongoing commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of students. Leaders stressed that the federation would continue to stand firmly against any form of intimidation or harassment affecting the indigenous community. They assured parents that TISF remains vigilant and ready to cooperate with authorities whenever necessary.

The intervention by TISF received appreciation from locals, who expressed relief that the situation was resolved without further escalation. Community members also urged organizations and clubs to conduct cultural celebrations responsibly, ensuring participation remains voluntary and free from coercion.

This incident underscores the role of student organizations like TISF in addressing social concerns while promoting peace and unity. With Durga Puja festivities ongoing, the proactive response by TISF has sent a strong message of reassurance to the community.
