The eighth session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly is set to begin today and will continue until September 23. Ahead of the session, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha convened a crucial meeting on Thursday evening at his official residence with legislators from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies, TIPRA Motha and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).
The meeting, attended by most of the MLAs including the Chief Minister, was held to finalize strategies and ensure coordinated participation during the Assembly proceedings. Discussions largely focused on aligning legislative priorities and ensuring smooth conduct of the six-day session.
According to party sources, the emphasis of the meeting was on strengthening coordination among alliance partners and preparing responses on potential issues to be raised in the house. The leaders also stressed the importance of making the session both productive and meaningful in terms of addressing public concerns.
The Assembly session is expected to see discussions on key legislative matters, developmental initiatives, and people-centric agendas. The ruling coalition is likely to highlight its achievements while also responding to questions raised by the opposition.
