BJP and Tipra Motha Agree to Contest Together
BJP senior leader and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said both parties reached an understanding after detailed discussions.
Nath said the BJP and Tipra Motha will contest the elections together as partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He described the talks as constructive and said both sides successfully completed the seat-sharing process.
The two parties had earlier held discussions in New Delhi. Their senior leaders discussed the alliance and the upcoming local elections before returning to Tripura.

He also recalled earlier discussions involving Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma. The leaders had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to discuss the alliance.
Alliance Targets Grassroots Governance
Chowdhury said the alliance wants to improve governance at the grassroots level, particularly in areas under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
At the same time, the BJP-Tipra Motha alliance aims to challenge the CPI(M) in the Village Committee elections.
The polls could therefore become an important political contest in Tripura, especially across tribal and rural areas.

Senior Tipra Motha leaders, including MLA Ranjit Debbarma and CEM Runiel Debbarma, attended the meeting.
