Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening administration and ensuring effective service delivery for the people of Tripura. Sharing the updates on his official Facebook page, Dr. Saha informed that the Cabinet has cleared a series of important decisions focusing on welfare schemes, governance efficiency, and employment opportunities.
In a significant step towards social welfare, the Cabinet approved an increase in the monthly honorarium for persons with intellectual disabilities (Divyangjan) from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000. Along with this financial support, the government will extend additional benefits aimed at improving the quality of life of underprivileged sections of society.
The Cabinet also approved several administrative reforms. A total of 45 new posts of Senior Manager (Electrical) will be created under the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), Power Department. These new positions are expected to strengthen the power sector and improve service efficiency across the state.
Further, the government has decided to fill up four vacant posts of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) under the Education (Social Welfare & Social Education) Department. This move will ensure smoother functioning of child development projects and strengthen initiatives for child and women welfare.
To enhance the justice delivery system, the Cabinet also cleared the creation of 25 new posts under the Law (PA) Department. This includes one post of Process Server (Grade-D) and one Driver (Grade-C) along with other essential positions. These steps are expected to strengthen the department and speed up legal and administrative processes.
Chief Minister Dr. Saha highlighted that the newly approved measures are designed to both improve governance and create employment opportunities for the youth. “These steps will not only strengthen public service delivery but also open new avenues of employment, empowering the people of Tripura,” he said.
He further emphasized that the state government remains committed to building a “Viksit Tripura” (Developed Tripura) by ensuring good governance, empowering weaker sections, and maintaining transparency in administration.
The decisions taken in Thursday’s Cabinet meeting reflect the government’s focus on inclusive development and its intent to deliver on promises made to the people. With initiatives ranging from welfare benefits for Divyangjan to creating employment opportunities in key departments, the state is moving forward steadily towards improved governance and socio-economic progress.
