Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha launched three technology-driven initiatives on Thursday to strengthen innovation, digital empowerment and entrepreneurship across the state. The programmes aim to create new opportunities for students, young innovators and emerging startups.
The Chief Minister launched the Tripura Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026, Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana for the academic year 2025-26 and Digi-SAPNE 3.0 at Women’s College in Agartala.

The Directorate of Information Technology organised the programme under the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Saha said his government wants to build an innovation-driven, digitally empowered and future-ready Tripura. He stressed that young people must use technology and creativity to become innovators and job creators.
The event also marked the inauguration of the renovated Matangini Pritilata Sabhagriha at Women’s College.
Tripura Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 to Promote Innovation
The Tripura Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 aims to encourage students, researchers, innovators and startups to develop practical solutions for governance and public service delivery.
The challenge will provide a platform for young minds to present creative ideas that address real-world problems.
Participants can explore technology-based solutions to improve public services and administrative processes.
The initiative also seeks to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions, government departments and the startup community.
Through this programme, the state government hopes to encourage a culture of problem-solving and innovation among young people.
The challenge forms part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which Tripura observes from September 17 to October 17.
Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana Strengthens Digital Access
The Chief Minister also launched the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana for the academic year 2025-26.
The scheme aims to improve digital connectivity among students by supporting their access to smartphones and digital learning resources.
Since its introduction in 2019-20, the programme has benefited more than 63,000 students. The government has spent over ₹31.62 crore on the initiative.
Digital access plays an important role in modern education. Students increasingly depend on online platforms for academic materials, research and skill development.
The scheme seeks to reduce the digital divide and help students access educational opportunities beyond traditional classrooms.
It also supports the state’s broader objective of improving digital literacy among young people.
Digi-SAPNE 3.0 to Boost Northeast Startup Ecosystem
Another major highlight of the programme was the launch of Digi-SAPNE 3.0, the Digital Startup Acceleration Program for North East.
AIC-SMUTBI implements the programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
The initiative aims to support technology-driven startups through mentorship, business acceleration and connections with investors.
It will help emerging entrepreneurs develop business models, strengthen their operations and explore opportunities for growth.
The programme also seeks to connect startups with the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Northeast.
During the event, the authorities highlighted the progress of startups under Digi-SAPNE 2.0. Selected startups also received financial assistance under the earlier programme.
The latest edition aims to build on these efforts and expand opportunities for technology-based businesses.
CM Calls for Youth-Led Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Addressing the gathering, Saha highlighted the talent and potential of Tripura’s young population.

The programme also featured the formal inauguration of the renovated Matangini Pritilata Sabhagriha at Women’s College, Agartala.

Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman attended the programme.
Senior government officials, academic representatives, startup founders, innovators and students also participated.
