Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on September 21 inaugurated a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a modern Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital. The new facilities aim to strengthen critical-care services, improve infection control and expand access to specialised healthcare in the state.
The inauguration took place at the Super Speciality Block of AGMC & GBP Hospital in Agartala. Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, MLA and Rogi Kalyan Samiti Chairperson Mina Rani Sarkar, Medical Superintendent Dr Bidhan Goswami and other senior doctors and officials attended the programme.

New ICU to Strengthen Critical Care
The newly inaugurated ICU forms part of the Super Speciality Block at AGMC & GBP Hospital. According to reports, the unit has 18 beds, with nine beds each for male and female patients. The facility will support patients who need continuous monitoring, specialised treatment and advanced medical and nursing care.
