Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday paid heartfelt tribute to the legendary music composer and singer Kumar Sachin Dev Burman, popularly known as S.D. Burman, on his birth anniversary. The floral tribute ceremony was held at the statue of the musical maestro located in the premises of Rabindra Satabdi Bhavan in Agartala.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Saha described music as one of the greatest gifts to humanity and recalled the remarkable contribution of S.D. Burman, who is regarded as one of the most influential music directors in the history of Indian cinema. “Nothing can be better than music. In the world of music, the creative son of this kingdom, Sachin Karta, occupies a boundless position,” Saha said while offering homage.
The event also witnessed a cultural program organized by the Department of Information and Culture, where artists performed songs composed by S.D. Burman. The performances reflected the timeless legacy of the maestro, whose compositions continue to inspire music lovers across generations.
