Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha returned to his “old workplace” on Wednesday and performed a dental surgery on a 10-year-old boy at the Tripura Medical College in Hapania.
Sharing some pictures of the surgery, the chief minister tweeted, “Happy to perform the surgery on 10-year-old Akshit Ghosh for oral cystic lesion at my old workplace, Tripura Medical College.”
The CM further tweeted that, ‘Before joining mainstream politics, Saha used to teach at Tripura Medical College. Saha said that there was no problem in doing the surgery after a long break. There was no difficulty in performing the surgery, although it was done after a long gap. The patient is now in good condition.
‘The Chief Minister entered the hospital at around nine in the morning and after half an hour came out of the operation theater smiling. Dr. Amit Lal Goswami, Dr. Pooja Debnath, Dr. Rudra Prasad Chakraborty of the Department of Dental Surgery and Maxilla Facial Surgery helped him. Dr. Smita Paul, Dr. Kanchan Das, Dr. Sharmistha Banik Sen and Dr. Baishali Saha were also part of the medical team.
Saha became the chief minister of the north-eastern state in May 2022 after the resignation of the then chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb. Saha joined the BJP after leaving the Congress in 2016 and became the state BJP president in 2020.
