Agartala, September 18: The Tripura government is making extensive preparations for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state on September 22. The visit, scheduled for next Monday, will focus on the inauguration of major development and beautification projects at the historic Matabari temple complex in Udaipur.
In anticipation of the visit, a bulletproof vehicle designated for the Prime Minister’s short road journey has already arrived in the state. Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel have also reached Tripura to review security measures and inspect all locations related to the Prime Minister’s arrival and departure. Security arrangements are being closely monitored to ensure a foolproof plan for the high-profile event.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, along with senior officials of the state government, visited the Matabari temple complex today to oversee the ongoing preparations. The Chief Minister reviewed the decoration and infrastructure works being carried out under the government’s initiative to welcome the Prime Minister. The Matabari temple, which has a legacy spanning more than five centuries, is set to witness a new chapter of development under the centrally sponsored ‘Prasad Prakalpa’ scheme.
As part of the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate multiple infrastructural development and beautification projects aimed at enhancing the facilities of the temple complex while preserving its cultural and religious significance. The projects are expected to boost tourism in Udaipur and highlight Tripura’s rich heritage at a national level.
During today’s review visit, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was joined by Finance Minister Pranjit Singha Roy, Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Rajeev Bhattacharjee, Zilla Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, and MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumder. The officials emphasized that all arrangements are being carried out with utmost priority to ensure a smooth and historic visit.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Modi will first arrive at Agartala Airport on a special flight from Delhi. From there, he will travel to Palatana near Udaipur by helicopter. The road journey from Palatana to the Matabari temple complex will allow him to greet people who are expected to gather on both sides of the route to welcome the Prime Minister.
The government has also instructed local authorities to make adequate arrangements for crowd management, security, and smooth traffic movement during the visit. Officials believe that this occasion will not only be a significant moment for the people of Tripura but also an important milestone in showcasing the state’s potential for cultural and religious tourism.
