Government of Tripura has transferred and reassigned eight senior IAS, IFS, and TCS Grade-I officers across various departments and districts. The notification, issued by the General Administration (Personnel and Training) Department on May 27, outlines the new appointments aimed at streamlining administrative efficiency in the state.
Dr. Vishal Kumar, who held the position of Municipal Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), has been relieved of his duties and appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of West Tripura district. In his place, Dilip Kumar Chakma, the outgoing DM of Unakoti district, has been appointed as the new AMC Commissioner.
Key Highlights of the Administrative Changes:
- K Shashi Kumar, IFS officer and incumbent Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), who was also holding additional charge as Secretary of the Science, Technology and Environment Department, has now been relieved of his additional duties. He has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department.
- Brijesh Pandey, a senior IAS officer and the current Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura, has been relieved of the additional charge of the Tribal Welfare Department.
- Chaitanya Murti, an IFS officer and incumbent Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), will now serve as the Principal Secretary of the Science, Technology and Environment Department.
- Tamal Majumder, currently Additional Secretary in the Revenue and GA (Administrative Reforms) Department, has been transferred and appointed as the new DM of Unakoti district.
- Two TCS Grade-I officers, Subrata Datta and Rupan Das, have also received new postings. Datta has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Revenue Department, while Das, who was serving as Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Sonamura, has also been transferred to the Revenue Department as Deputy Secretary.
The reshuffle is seen as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance and ensure effective service delivery across departments and districts. More such administrative changes involving IAS, IFS, and TCS officers are expected as the state aims to improve coordination and operational efficiency.
