The Government of Tripura has announced revised rates for Festival Grant and Festival Advance for the financial year 2025–26, providing additional festive support to government employees, pensioners, and associated workers.
According to the new provisions, Group-C and Group-D employees, along with Daily Rated Workers (DRWs) appointed with Finance Department concurrence, pensioners, family pensioners, and priests of state-run temples, will receive ₹2,100 each as Festival Grant.
On the other hand, Part-Time Workers (PTWs), contractual and casual workers, Anganwadi helpers, Home Guards, and Special Police Officers (SPOs) will receive ₹2,310 each.
A separate category has been outlined for part-time or irregular pump operators working under the PWD (DWS) and RD (Panchayat) departments, who will get ₹1,050 as Festival Grant.
The government has clarified that each eligible person can avail the grant only once per financial year, and it will be applicable for one major festival of their choice. Recognized festivals under this scheme include Durga Puja, Christmas, Garia Puja, Buddha Purnima, Eid-Uz-Zuha, Bengali New Year, Eid-Ul-Fitr, Guru Nanak’s Birthday, and Mahavir Jayanti.
The announcement has been welcomed by employees and beneficiaries across the state, as it provides timely relief ahead of the festive season. Officials stated that this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce and pensioners while maintaining financial balance.
