The Government of Tripura has announced a significant revision in wages and remuneration for multiple categories of workers, marking an important step towards strengthening financial support for employees across the state. The revised pay structure, approved by the Governor of Tripura, will officially come into effect from October 1, 2025, covering Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), Monthly Rated Workers (MRWs), Contingent and Casual Workers, Part-time Workers, Permanent Labourers, Public Places of Worship staff, Village Chowkidars, School Mothers, Adult Literacy Teachers, Part-time Instructors, Community Health Guides, and Home Guards.
According to the memorandum issued by the Finance Department on Friday, the revision aims to bring relief to workers engaged under fixed pay, daily wage, and part-time arrangements, including many who have been serving without formal concurrence from the Finance Department.
Revised Wages for Key Categories
- Daily Rated Workers (Grade-C): Increased from ₹476 to ₹490 per day.
- DRW (Technical): Raised from ₹487 to ₹502 per day.
- Daily Rated Workers (Grade-D): Revised from ₹444 to ₹457 per day.
- Monthly Rated Workers (Grade-D): Hiked from ₹12,924 to ₹13,312 per month.
- Permanent Labourers: Increased from ₹449 to ₹462 per day.
Part-time Workers (Based on Hours of Engagement)
- 4 hours: ₹10,113 to ₹10,416 per month.
- 3 hours: ₹9,842 to ₹10,137 per month.
- 2 hours: ₹9,593 to ₹9,881 per month.
Public Places of Worship Staff
- Head Priest: ₹14,741 to ₹15,183 per month.
- Adhikari: ₹14,417 to ₹14,850 per month.
- Priest/Chantai/Principal/Chandi Pathak/Cook/Pujari: ₹11,929 to ₹12,287 per month.
- Tallua/Mali/Guard/Singer/Sweeper/Gardener: ₹10,382 to ₹10,693 per month.
Other Categories
- Village Chowkidar: ₹11,475 to ₹11,819 per month.
- School Mother: ₹8,457 to ₹8,711 per month.
- Home Guard: ₹20,700 to ₹21,321 per month.
- Adult Literacy Teacher: ₹7,289 to ₹7,508 per month.
- Part-time Instructor: ₹7,171 to ₹7,386 per month.
- Community Health Guide: ₹7,171 to ₹7,386 per month.
Additionally, the Finance Department memorandum specifies a 3% enhancement in wages for both full-time and part-time employees who are engaged without the concurrence of the Finance Department.
This wage revision reflects the state government’s effort to extend recognition and financial stability to workers serving in different capacities across Tripura. The move is expected to directly benefit thousands of employees in critical roles, ensuring better support for families dependent on these incomes.
The government emphasized that this decision underscores its commitment to inclusive growth and improved welfare measures for the workforce. By implementing the revised rates from October 2025, Tripura aims to create a fairer pay structure for workers contributing to public service and community development.
