Tripura On Top For Cleanliness

Tripura has ranked first in the seventh edition of the Swachh Survekshan among 100 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

Swachh Survekshan is an annual survey for sanitation, hygiene, and cleanliness in villages, cities, and towns of India.

By becoming the first and cleanest among all states. In this survey, Jharkand has ranked second place on this list and Uttarakhand in third place.

Swachh Survekshan of 2022 was completely digitized in which ULBs submitted their documentation online through a portal. The best performing states have been decided into two categories, the first were the states with more than 100 Urban Local Bodies and the second with less than 100 ULBs Among states.

Among the first as the state with less than 100 ULBs Madhya Pradesh topped Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra was second and third on the list.

First of all, surveys were done in 2016 in which 73 cities were surveyed now it has reached to 4,354 cities across the country.

The selection of the best UTs award was based on rating in the four Swachh survekshan evaluation areas of Services Level Progress, District Observation, Citizens Feedback, and Certifications. Towns with a 1 lakh population were eligible for UTs.
