Tripura Police Arrest Four in Brutal Assault on 27-Year-Old

In a shocking incident, Tripura Police have apprehended four individuals for the brutal assault on a 27-year-old man in Sat Sangam village of Dharmanagar, Tripura’s North district. The victim, Anup Das, was subjected to merciless beating and humiliation, allegedly over an affair with a girl.

Alleged Affair Sparks Brutal Attack

The incident, which unfolded four days ago, saw Anup Das visiting the village to meet the girl he was romantically involved with. Upon being spotted by the girl’s family, the situation escalated rapidly. Anup was forcibly stripped in front of villagers and subjected to a severe beating by the four assailants, who tied him to a pole during the assault.

As a result of the brutal assault, Anup Das sustained critical injuries and has been admitted to the hospital for medical attention. The nature of the injuries underscores the severity of the attack.

The four individuals responsible for the assault have been identified as Panna Akura, Kush Akura, Lab Akura, and Samarjit Akura. Following their arrest, they have been remanded to judicial custody. The swift action by Tripura Police aims to bring justice to the victim and address the gravity of the situation.

Tripura Police has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the arrested individuals. The charges include sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 307 (attempt to murder), and 120(b) (criminal conspiracy). This legal action reflects the severity of the assault and the criminality involved.

Notably, among the arrested individuals are the girl’s father and brother, along with two neighbors. The involvement of the victim’s close relations adds a complex dimension to the case.
