Tripura Police Salary Delay Amid Unmet Case Disposal Goals

In a recent development in Tripura’s Sepahijala district, the salaries of eight police officers, including five sub-inspectors (SIs) and three assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), have been reportedly withheld. The cause behind this action is their failure to meet the target for disposing of cases over the past three months.

Salaries Delay Due to Unfulfilled Targets

According to official sources, the police personnel, stationed at Bishalgarh police station, were unable to achieve the set target of resolving cases within the stipulated timeframe. The Superintendent of Police, BJ Reddy, issued an order citing negligence in case disposal and consistent violation of superior orders as the reasons for withholding their salaries.

The officers were assigned a target of disposing of 18 cases, but they reportedly only managed to resolve three cases, falling significantly short of expectations.

Superintendent of Police’s Directive

In the order issued by Superintendent BJ Reddy, he explicitly mentioned the salaries being held up due to negligence in case disposal and consistent violation of superiors’ orders. The action serves as a consequence for the officers’ inability to meet the specified targets.
