Moreover, TRLM aims to scale up income-generating activities. It plans to support women-led enterprises with better funding and training.
Boost to Women Entrepreneurs
The mission has taken major steps to empower women financially. It disbursed ₹100 crore to one lakh “Lakhpati Didis.” This initiative received support from Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Following this success, TRLM has raised its target. It now aims to create 1.35 lakh Lakhpati Didis. Therefore, more women will gain financial independence in the coming years.
In addition, TRLM signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. This partnership will train SHG members to become “Millionaire Didis” and “Crorepati Didis.” It will also improve financial literacy and business skills.
Infrastructure and Market Access
To strengthen operations, TRLM has proposed ₹110 crore for infrastructure development. This investment will improve production and storage facilities for SHGs.
Furthermore, the mission sanctioned 60 vehicles for SHG members. These vehicles will help them access markets more easily.
TRLM also plans to launch “SHE Marts” in all districts. These marts will act as hubs for selling SHG products. As a result, rural women will gain better visibility and higher income.
Skill Development and Rural Jobs
The Ministry of Rural Development appreciated Tripura’s performance under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY).
For 2026–27, TRLM has proposed ₹49.92 crore under this scheme. The fund will support training and job placement for rural youth. Thus, it will create more employment opportunities.
Focus on Border Villages
TRLM will also expand its work in border areas. Under the Vibrant Villages Programme, 87 villages across 23 blocks will receive support.
These villages lie in strategically important regions. Therefore, the initiative will boost both economic activity and local living standards.
Showcasing Local Products
During the event, TRLM officials presented SHG-made products to the Ministry. This gesture highlighted Tripura’s craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit.
Overall, the budget reflects a strong push for inclusive development. It focuses on women, youth, and rural communities.
Why Tripura Matters
Tripura plays a key role in Northeast India’s development. Its focus on SHGs and rural enterprises strengthens the regional economy. Moreover, such initiatives help reduce unemployment and migration.
