Tripura State Rifles Organises Health Camp and Civic Programme for Villagers

Tripura State Rifles holds health camp, civic programme for villagers

In a continued effort to strengthen community outreach and support public welfare initiatives, the 5th Battalion of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) organised a Health-cum-Civic Action Programme at Tuichakma Community Hall near Tuichakma Market on Thursday. The initiative aimed to improve healthcare awareness, extend medical support, and build stronger ties between security personnel and local communities.

Officials, medical teams, villagers, and students participated in the programme, which combined healthcare services with civic support activities in one of the remote areas of the state.

The event reflected the broader focus on connecting public institutions with local communities through direct engagement and essential welfare services.

Health Camp Brings Medical Support to Local Residents

The health camp formed a key part of the outreach programme and offered medical assistance to residents and students in the area. According to information shared by the Tripura Police Media Cell, the initiative reached both community members and young students through health check-ups and support services.

A total of 45 local villagers and 55 students from Thakurcherra High School took part in the programme and received healthcare assistance during the camp.

Medical staff from Raisyabari Primary Health Centre supported the programme and provided health-related guidance to participants. The initiative focused on creating awareness while ensuring that people in remote locations received access to basic healthcare support.

Local residents welcomed the opportunity to interact directly with medical professionals and receive services close to their homes.

Officials Attend the Community Outreach Programme

Several officials attended the programme and encouraged efforts that combine healthcare access with community engagement.

Among those present were Dharma Sadhan Jamatia, DCO, Prantosh Das, Assistant Commandant of the 5th Battalion TSR, and Dr Sagar Debbarma, along with healthcare personnel from Raisyabari Primary Health Centre.

The presence of officials highlighted the importance of coordinated action between administrative authorities, healthcare workers, and security personnel in delivering welfare initiatives to remote areas.

Officials interacted with participants and observed activities conducted throughout the programme. They also emphasised the importance of maintaining regular outreach efforts to improve community well-being.

Civic Action Initiative Supports Students and Villagers

Alongside healthcare services, the programme also included a civic action component aimed at supporting local families and students.

As part of the initiative, organisers distributed essential items among students and villagers. The distributed materials included notebooks, pencils, water bottles, and napkins.

The support targeted both educational and everyday needs and encouraged greater participation from the local community.

Students from Thakurcherra High School received learning materials that can assist them in their studies, while villagers welcomed the distribution drive as a useful addition to the healthcare support provided during the event.

The civic programme also created opportunities for interaction between local residents and security personnel in an informal and supportive environment.

Strengthening Community Relations Through Outreach

Community outreach programmes continue to play an important role in strengthening trust and cooperation between security forces and residents.

Through initiatives such as health camps and civic action activities, agencies can address immediate needs while creating stronger social connections in rural and remote regions.

The 5th Battalion TSR organised the programme with the objective of improving healthcare awareness and promoting public welfare. Moreover, such efforts help create a positive engagement platform beyond regular administrative and security responsibilities.

Residents appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the role of institutions in reaching communities that often face limitations in accessing services.

Many participants viewed the programme as a meaningful effort that combined healthcare access, educational support, and community interaction.

Focus on Welfare Initiatives in Remote Areas

Remote parts of Tripura often require targeted outreach efforts to improve access to healthcare and public services. Programmes conducted at the community level can help bridge service gaps and encourage wider participation.

The Health-cum-Civic Action Programme at Tuichakma Community Hall demonstrated how coordinated initiatives can support local needs effectively.

By bringing together medical professionals, officials, students, and villagers, the programme created a direct channel for service delivery and awareness generation.

The Tripura State Rifles health camp also reinforced the importance of community-focused initiatives that prioritise public welfare and local engagement.

As outreach activities continue across different parts of the state, such programmes are expected to contribute to stronger community relationships and improved access to essential support services.
