Tripura has earned national recognition after three students from the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Narsingarh, secured second place in the “Design for Bharat” track at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026.
The achievers—Anjita Paul, Himadrita Das, and Janmajoy Das—represented the state on a prestigious national platform and impressed the jury with their innovative ideas.
Their success highlights the growing presence of Tripura in India’s innovation and youth leadership ecosystem.
A Grand National Youth Platform
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from January 9 to January 12. The event marked the finale of one of the country’s largest youth engagement programmes.
More than 50 lakh young participants joined the nationwide selection process. After multiple evaluation stages, organisers shortlisted 1,500 finalists to present their ideas on building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
The TIT students stood out among participants from premier institutions across the country.
Innovation Through “Design for Bharat”
The Design for Bharat track encouraged participants to develop practical and inclusive solutions for real-world challenges. The focus remained on sustainability, innovation, and social impact.
Anjita Paul, Himadrita Das, and Janmajoy Das showcased strong design thinking and technical insight. Their presentation reflected clarity, originality, and relevance to national development goals.
Their performance earned appreciation from mentors and experts present at the event.
Prime Minister Attends Closing Ceremony
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the closing ceremony and interacted with young leaders from across India. He encouraged youth participation in nation-building and innovation.
The programme featured thematic discussions, competitions, and expert sessions. Participants engaged with ISRO scientists, astronauts, policymakers, industry professionals, and sports icons.
These interactions offered valuable exposure and inspiration to the young innovators.
Minister Praises Tripura’s Young Achievers
Tripura’s achievement received praise from Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath. He congratulated the students for bringing pride to the state.
“Heartfelt congratulations to Anjita Paul, Himadrita Das, and Janmajoy Das. Their creativity and dedication reflect the spirit of a progressive India,” the minister said.
He added that their success highlights the talent emerging from Tripura’s educational institutions.
