State Championship Returns on December 1

To revive the sport, the Tripura Body Building and Fitness Association (TBBFA), affiliated with the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF), will host a one-day State Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship on December 1. The venue will be Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan (Hall No. 1) in Agartala. Moreover, the contest will remain open only to athletes from Tripura. The organisers have also kept ₹1.5 lakh as prize money for the winners. Therefore, the event is expected to draw strong interest from fitness enthusiasts across the state.

Special Guests and Event Highlights

TBBFA president Tanay Das briefed the media about the competition. According to him, national youth icon and champion bodybuilder Nitin Chandia will attend the event as the special guest. His appearance, therefore, is likely to boost the morale of young athletes. The event will start at 12 PM, and Food and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury along with Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy will inaugurate the championship. In addition, both ministers will address the participants before the contest officially begins.

Rising Enthusiasm Among Local Athletes

Registration opened one month ago, and the response has been impressive. So far, 170 bodybuilders from different parts of Tripura have enrolled for the event. This turnout, meanwhile, shows a growing interest in fitness and bodybuilding within the state. Tanay Das expressed hope that the championship will become a major success. Moreover, he believes the event will help revive the sport and encourage many young athletes to train seriously. Finally, he expects the competition to mark a positive shift in Tripura’s fitness culture.
