Coaches of the Tripura Under-17 Table Tennis team have thanked Lok Sabha MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for his timely intervention in securing confirmed railway tickets. His support ensured smooth travel for the team to and from a national-level tournament.
The assistance helped the young players focus fully on their performance without worrying about travel arrangements.
Team Travels to Chennai for National Event
The Tripura contingent left for Chennai on December 20 to participate in the prestigious competition. The team included 10 boys, along with coaches Biplab Chakraborty and Chaitali Datta.
Proper travel arrangements played a key role in maintaining the team’s discipline and schedule during the tournament.
Strong Performance at National Level
The Tripura Under-17 team delivered an impressive performance at the event. The players defeated teams from three different states in both individual and group matches.
Coaches praised the dedication and focus of the players. They said smooth travel helped the team maintain confidence and energy throughout the competition.
Coaches Highlight Importance of Confirmed Tickets
Coach Biplab Chakraborty stressed the importance of confirmed railway tickets. He said the timely confirmation allowed the team to remain calm and concentrate on matches.
“Travel uncertainty often affects young players,” he said. “With confirmed tickets, the boys stayed focused and performed well.”
He credited MP Biplab Kumar Deb for ensuring a hassle-free onward and return journey.

Intervention During Return Journey
Coach Chaitali Datta recalled tense moments during the team’s return journey. Tickets from Kolkata to Agartala remained unconfirmed at first.
She said MP Biplab Kumar Deb stepped in immediately after being informed. Soon after his intervention, the railway tickets were confirmed.
Support from Youth Affairs and Sports Department
Chaitali Datta also acknowledged the role of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. The department issued an official letter to the Railways, which helped speed up the ticket confirmation process.
She said coordinated efforts from public representatives and government departments ensured the team’s safe return.
Boost to Players’ Morale
The coaches said the timely assistance boosted the morale of the young athletes. They added that such support plays a vital role in shaping confidence at a young age.
Parents and team officials also appreciated the help. Many said the support reflected strong encouragement for sports development in Tripura.
