World’s First Documented Case of Pediatric Keloid Fully Cured with Classical Homeopathy

Chandigarh, India — June 2025 – In a pioneering breakthrough in dermatological care, Dr. Vikas Singhal of Dr. Singhal Homeo Clinic, Chandigarh, has successfully treated a rare and challenging pediatric case, that is, in a child, of extensive keloid scars caused by second-degree burns, using only classical homeopathic medicines. This marks the world’s first reported case of complete remission of hypertrophic burn-induced keloid in a child without any surgical, topical, or allopathic intervention.

The patient, a 4-year and 11-month-old boy at the time of the injury, sustained severe scalding injuries after falling into a tub of hot water. The accident led to widespread second-degree burns affecting the lower abdomen, right waist, inner thigh, groin, and penile region. Despite aggressive allopathic management, including intravenous antibiotics, wound dressings, silicone gels, and eight months of homeopathic treatment from a different clinic, the child’s condition progressed into disfiguring keloid masses.

It was in March 2021 that the patient’s parents turned to Dr. Vikas Singhal, known for handling complex and chronic cases with individualized homeopathic treatment protocols.

A Chronic Case Demanding Precision and Patience

Upon examination, Dr. Singhal initiated case analysis using the Synergy Homeopathic Software, which identified Causticum as the constitutional ‘simillimum remedy’ – that is, a homeopathic medicine which responds best to the symptoms pertaining to keloids. The treatment began with Causticum 1M, followed by successive increase in dosage, also termed ‘methodical escalation’ in the Homeopathic system. The dosage increase was in the sequence – 10M, 50M, and finally CM potency over successive months. The patient’s condition, monitored closely through visual documentation using images shared by the patient’s parents and clinical notes by Dr. Vikas, showed consistent improvement.

Later, Bacillinum 10M was introduced as an ‘intercurrent remedy’ to deepen the constitutional response, followed by Thiosinaminum 8X chewable tablets to target skin discoloration and residual fibrotic tissue.

“In long-standing dermal conditions like keloids, especially in pediatric cases, homeopathy offers a non-invasive, patient-specific route to true healing,” stated Dr. Vikas Singhal. “This case reaffirms the power of classical healing prinicples of homeopathy in real-world health challenges.”

A Timeline of Healing: From Disfigurement to Complete Recovery

The treatment included no external ointments, corticosteroids, or surgery—a rarity in the management of keloid, especially in pediatric patients. Nutritional support (Vitamin D, iron, blackstrap molasses) and dietary regulations (no fried, junk, or preservative-laden foods) complemented the healing process.

Key Remedies and Their Roles

The therapeutic approach was entirely internal, with no suppressive or invasive measures applied. This strategic avoidance of topical agents enabled the body’s own immune modulation to take full effect through homeopathic principles.

Clinical Outcomes

The success of the treatment was evidenced not only by complete flattening of keloid masses but also by the restoration of normal skin texture, tone, and elasticity. Inflammation subsided completely. Hemoglobin levels improved, and the patient did not experience any aggravations throughout the process.

“Our child had gone through multiple treatments before, but it was only after starting with Dr. Singhal that we saw steady and meaningful recovery. Today, he is completely free from the scars, and his confidence has returned,” said the child’s father.

Visual documentation, before-after images, and consultation records over the four-year period affirm a progressive and traceable improvement curve. A graph maintained throughout the treatment showcases the patient’s steady journey from burn trauma to full recovery.

Scientific and Clinical Significance

This case sets a new benchmark in the world of keloid management and treatment. Traditionally, keloids are considered difficult to treat due to their chronicity and recurrence rate—especially in pediatric cases, where surgical and steroid options carry high risk.

The application of Causticum in escalating potencies alongside Bacillinum and Thiosinaminum represents a systematic model of chronic case management in classical homeopathy, with non-suppressive and holistic recovery as the outcome.

As more patients and clinicians look for safe, evidence-supported, and non-invasive alternatives of keloid treatment, this case may serve as a replicable model in the field of integrative dermatology.
