On October 27, 2024, the Indian Ex-Services League (IESL) in Lucknow held a significant meeting in Sarojini Nagar, uniting respected veterans from the region. The session was presided over by Abhishek Kumar Tripathi, Air Veteran, MD of MG Construction, and Head of the IESL South Lucknow Division, with coordination by Army Veteran Uma Prakash Yadav. The gathering saw enthusiastic participation from numerous veterans who came together to discuss the mission, values, and upcoming goals of the IESL.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures in the organization, including General Secretary Captain Shiv Bachan Singh, Coordinator Naib Subedar Rajesh Mishra, Southern East Lucknow In-Charge and Co-Coordinator CPMO Sheo Kumar Yadav, and Senior Executive Member Captain P.K. Awasthi. The meeting emphasized strengthening ties among veterans, fostering unity, and reinforcing the welfare programs that benefit veterans and their families.

Tripathi and Captain Shiv Bachan Singh highlighted the importance of veterans remaining united and supporting one another, particularly as a means of continuing the spirit of camaraderie and mutual support that defined their years of service. They emphasized that even after retirement, the dedication to serve others should continue, bringing both retired and active veterans together in purposeful service to their communities and the nation.

Abhishek Kumar Tripathi, as Chair, spoke in depth about the IESL organization at both the central and state levels, outlining the organization’s role in addressing the welfare needs of veterans across the country. He urged members to volunteer and extend their support to active-duty service members and retirees, emphasizing health, well-being, and strong family bonds as foundational aspects of post-service life. Tripathi’s commitment to the welfare of veterans was clear as he spoke passionately about the importance of staying organized, unified, and prepared to help each other as needed.

He also reflected on the importance of serving others with selflessness, referencing the original vision for the IESL laid down by Field Marshal General Cariappa and General Thimayya, who founded the organization in 1964 to serve veterans and their families. IESL continues this legacy by remaining a non-political, selfless platform focused on service, encouraging members to strengthen the organization and contribute actively to society.

The meeting concluded with the appointment of Uma Prakash Yadav as the official in charge of the Sarojini Nagar area, reflecting his dedication to the veteran community. Tripathi expressed gratitude to Yadav, his team, and everyone who participated in making the meeting a success. The session ended with light refreshments and a renewed commitment to meet soon to continue their mission of unity and service.

The spirit of dedication, honor, and unity resonated throughout the gathering as veterans looked forward to working together, just as they did during their years of service.
