Himanta Biswa Sarma: The CM will be decided after considering the number of seats won by the BJP in Meghalaya. Polling was held in Tripura on 16 February and in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27 February. The results of the election will be declared on March 2.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that Tripura, Nagaland or Meghalaya will not have a hung assembly as predicted in some exit polls. NEDA convenor Sarma said that none of the allies of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) would forge any alliance with the Congress or the Trinamool Congress.

There will be no hung assembly. NDA government will be formed in all the three states. Asked about the chief ministerial candidates in the three states, he said status quo would be maintained in Tripura and Nagaland. The convener of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) said, “Tripura will have a BJP chief minister, while we are in a coalition government in Nagaland.”

CM will be decided later. Polling was held in Tripura on 16 February and in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27 February. The results of the election will be declared on March 2.
