Two Bangladeshi Infiltrators Arrested Near Indo-Bangladesh Border in Meghalaya

Two Bangladeshi infiltrators have been arrested near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district. A police officer has informed about the arrest of Bangladeshi nationals.

The police had received inputs that Bangladeshi nationals were hiding. It was reported that some Bangladeshis were seen in the forest adjacent to the international border near Piratakuna village. On information, the police and BSF team went there and arrested two Bangladeshis. Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa said that others managed to escape to Bangladesh during this period. The Bangladeshis have been identified as Misbauddin (31) and Badrul Alom (30). The police officer said that both the arrested persons are from Darponagar village in Bangladesh.

Dhanoa has given more information about this. He told that we have arrested two Bangladeshi nationals. Bangladeshi nationals have been actively facilitating and promoting the illegal infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals into India via the Kuliang-Ratchera route over the past few months.

Misbauddin wanted in many cases

The police officer said that Misbauddin is wanted in several other cases. Dhanoa said a case is being registered and an investigation is on. Meghalaya shares a 443-km-long international border with Bangladesh, 20 percent of which is without fencing due to inhospitable terrain.
