The third demand calls for the immediate removal of videos, photographs, reels and other online posts that the association alleges contain false or defamatory information. It also wants measures to prevent such material from being uploaded or circulated again.

The fourth demand seeks public clarification or an apology, where legally appropriate, from media organisations, social media pages and other entities that published information the RDA considers unverified or defamatory. The association has also called for corrections where necessary.

RDA Raises Concerns Over Healthcare Workers’ Privacy

According to the RDA, the statement aims to present the doctors’ version of events and counter what the association describes as misinformation.

The doctors’ body said unauthorised recording and circulation of content can affect the dignity, privacy and professional integrity of healthcare workers.

Moreover, the RDA expressed concern that disputed online material could affect the doctor-patient relationship and public confidence in healthcare professionals.

The association urged the public to verify information before sharing videos or drawing conclusions about the incident.

Resident doctors at AGMC and GB Pant Hospital had earlier staged a sit-in outside the Principal’s office over the issue.

The doctors submitted a memorandum seeking action against the circulation of videos. They also called for restrictions on unauthorised recording inside hospital premises and stronger security measures.

The RDA said resident doctors and postgraduate trainees would remain united in protecting the dignity and professional integrity of healthcare workers.

At the same time, the association said it supports responsible public discussion about issues involving healthcare institutions and professionals.
