Guwahati, October 8. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that 70 years of congress rule pushed northeast India towards violence and anarchy but now the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the Government has integrated it with the mainstream. After the inauguration of the new office here, shah claimed that the North West region has progressed on the path of peace and development during the BJP rule.

He said that the BJP government has established peace in Assam by getting 9,000 people armed. Shah, a senior BJP leader, said the Prime Minister has tripled the budget for the Northeast region, which has led to infrastructural development in all areas.

He claimed that after independence, seventy years of congress rule had pushed the Northeast towards violence and anarchy but Modi’s leadership during the last eight years has helped bring the region into the mainstream.

Referring to the party’s new office, Shah said, “BJP office is not just brick and stone buildings, but it reflects the dedication, spirit, commitment and hard work of the party workers.”

Earlier, Shah called on BJP president J.P. Nadda with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, of the party The new headquarters of the party was inaugurated in the presence of State unit chief Bhavesh Kalita, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and others.

After this, the leaders took stock of all the floors of the six-story building named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Nadda laid the foundation stone of nine district party offices while Shah laid the foundation stone of 102 regional through a digital medium.
