Assam is on the path to becoming a renewable energy hub, thanks to a historic ₹1,000 crore investment by Arti Power & Ventures Private Limited. This major development, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, is set to transform the state’s energy infrastructure while empowering women in the workforce.

Arti Power’s Commitment to Renewable Energy in Assam

Arti Power, a leading player in India’s renewable energy sector, is focused on harnessing Assam’s hydropower, solar PV, and green hydrogen potential. The company’s investment aligns with India’s National Renewable Energy Goals, aiming to make Assam a key player in the clean energy revolution.

By utilizing abandoned water resources, Arti Power plans to develop small, medium, and micro hydropower projects in hilly districts, generating between 100-200 MW of green energy. Additionally, the company is exploring solar PV projects on embankments, ensuring efficient land utilization and maximum energy output.

With a commitment to green hydrogen production, Arti Power aims to help Assam reduce its dependence on fossil fuels while contributing to India’s net-zero emissions target.

Advantage Assam 2.0: A Game-Changer for Investments

The Advantage Assam 2.0 summit has played a crucial role in attracting massive investments to the state. The Assam government has set an ambitious target of securing ₹1.5 lakh crore in commitments across various industries.

Among the major investors, Arti Power’s ₹1,000 crore commitment signifies strong confidence in Assam’s renewable energy growth and business-friendly policies. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s initiatives have helped create a welcoming business environment, encouraging companies like Arti Power to expand their footprint in the region.

Revamping Assam’s Power Sector for a Sustainable Future

Apart from developing new renewable energy projects, Arti Power has also pledged to revamp and modernize Assam’s non-performing power projects. By working closely with public sector entities, the company aims to improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in the state’s electricity supply.

This move is expected to enhance Assam’s power infrastructure, ensuring stable and affordable energy for both residential and industrial consumers.

Arti Agro Food: Empowering Women Through Food Processing

In addition to renewable energy, Arti Power’s subsidiary, Arti Agro Food, has announced significant plans for Assam’s food processing sector.

The Northeast region produces a wide variety of agricultural products, but limited processing facilities often lead to high food wastage. To tackle this challenge, Arti Agro Food will set up state-of-the-art food processing units, boosting the local economy while creating employment opportunities for thousands of women in rural Assam.

Women’s Empowerment: A Key Priority for Arti Power

Arti Power’s Director, Mrs. Arti Atin Kamble, has made it clear that women’s economic independence is a top priority.

Speaking at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, Mrs. Kamble highlighted her vision for empowering women in Assam, stating: “As a woman entrepreneur, I believe women should be given priority. In Mumbai, we already employ 150 women, and I want to create similar opportunities in Assam. Women should be independent and strive towards self-reliance.”

She further emphasized the huge potential of Assam’s food processing sector, noting that much of the local agricultural produce is wasted due to a lack of proper infrastructure and investment. “The Northeast has immense potential in food processing. It is heartbreaking to see food go to waste when it could be transformed into high-quality processed products.”

By creating job opportunities for women, Arti Power is ensuring that Assam’s economic growth is inclusive and community-driven.

A Bright Future for Assam’s Energy and Food Sectors

With leading companies like Reliance and Adani investing in Assam, Arti Power’s ₹1,000 crore investment further cements the state’s status as a major player in India’s renewable energy landscape.

By focusing on hydropower, solar PV, and green hydrogen, Arti Power is not only supporting clean energy initiatives but also ensuring long-term energy security for Assam.

Moreover, its commitment to food processing and women’s empowerment highlights a holistic approach to development, ensuring that the benefits of industrial growth reach the grassroots level.

Arti Power’s mega investment in Assam’s energy and food sectors represents a transformational step towards economic progress and sustainability. With renewable energy projects, modernized power plants, and women-led employment initiatives, the company is helping shape Assam’s future as a green energy leader.

As Assam gears up for unprecedented industrial growth, Arti Power’s initiatives will play a crucial role in fostering a self-sufficient, environmentally sustainable, and inclusive economy.
