Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Agartala Airport

A flight carrying Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was forced to make an emergency landing at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, Agartala, on Saturday evening due to adverse weather conditions at Guwahati airport.

According to sources, the aircraft was diverted as a safety precaution after encountering inclement weather at its destination. The emergency landing was executed smoothly without any reported incidents.

On being informed, Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury immediately rushed to the airport to assess the situation. Airport officials, along with security personnel, ensured the Chief Minister’s safety and provided all necessary assistance upon his arrival.

Following a brief stopover at Agartala, Himanta Biswa Sarma resumed his journey and departed for Guwahati from MBB Airport at approximately 6:30 pm on the same flight.

Officials confirmed that the emergency landing did not affect the flight schedule significantly and praised the coordinated efforts of airport authorities and security staff in managing the situation efficiently.

This incident underscores the importance of strict safety protocols in air travel, especially during adverse weather conditions in the Northeast region.
