The Miao Battalion of Assam Rifles demonstrated its commitment to community welfare by organizing a daylong free eye check-up camp at the Miao Primary Health Center in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh. The event took place on Saturday, featuring the participation of doctors and optometrists from Assam Medical College and Hospitals, Dibrugarh, with support from the Miao PHC staff.
During the camp, more than 400 patients received medical attention and care. Around 200 spectacles were distributed free of cost to those in need. The initiative aimed to address various eye-related issues prevalent among the local population.
The collaborative effort identified approximately 50 patients with cataracts and critical eye ailments by the end of the camp. Assam Rifles has announced plans to facilitate the treatment of these patients by arranging visits to the Assam Medical College and Hospitals in Dibrugarh for necessary operations.
The local community expressed appreciation for the noble efforts of Assam Rifles, acknowledging the positive contributions of Deputy Commissioner Changlang, civil administration, and local MLA and Minister Kamlung Mossang in supporting the initiative. Such community-focused endeavors reflect the commitment of Assam Rifles to the well-being of the people it serves.
