In a move reflecting goodwill and a humanitarian approach, the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura, handed over 10 Bangladeshi nationals identified as illegal migrants to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on 30 August 2025.
The handover took place during a Company Commander (Coy) Level Flag Meeting at the Indo-Bangladesh border, a regular platform for both sides to discuss border management, security, and related issues.
Officials stated that the action underscores the strong bilateral coordination between India and Bangladesh in managing cross-border movement while adhering to humanitarian principles. The BSF highlighted that all legal protocols were followed during the verification and repatriation of the individuals.
This incident demonstrates the commitment of the BSF to maintain border integrity while ensuring that humanitarian considerations are respected during the handling of illegal migrants.
Such handovers are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with Bangladesh and maintain peace, security, and mutual trust along the international boundary.
